The reason for being

After decades in the corporate world, the pandemic was a changing point for me.

I had worked out in my home, but was desperate for social interaction after the isolation and found my local CrossFit box. What I could not find was workout shirts that hid the body parts I did not want the world to see, while perhaps in an ideal world, highlight the few things that should be.

That thought was the first seed that led to the creation of ENGINE. In addition to a more flattering cut, a production line that cared about the people who made the products as well as the environment became the driving factors that led to me (supported by my infinitely smarter wife) pivoting completely into a new field.

I took university courses in ethical and sustainable textile production to as it turns out you do not learn garment design at business school. I then spent much, much longer than I had planned on evaluating suppliers, fabrics and getting the right samples produced before we could launch our first ENGINE collection.

There are a lot of options on the market, but if you're looking for clothes that will not get in the way, won't need constant adjustment, is made in an ethical way and doesn't cost as much as a small car, I'd love for you to try ENGINE.
